Tacoma Youth Chorus

Washington DC area

We visited Washington D.C last week, and I cannot even put to words how amazing our trip was! To say the area was nothing like I had imagined is an understatement. It is one of the few areas we just never got around to visiting, and yes I used to live in Connecticut and I should have made time. We live in the Seattle area currently, and we are always stuck in a traffic jam, no matter what time of day we try to go out. It is always noisy and smoggy even in the location we live which is 30 miles away from the big downtown area. In the DC area we stayed in Gaithersburg, about 20 miles away from the National Mall.

I am sharing just a few cell phone snaps I took today of the state of the Mayflower Dairy Farm buildings. This property is now owned by the Pierce County Parks and will become Cross Park. For years photographers, Professional and otherwise, have been coming out and doing photo shoots on this great location. Unfortunately the state that the barns and properties are left in when some bad apples visit the location is going to ruin it for everyone else. In just the 2 days since I was out there last, there have been vehicles in the property driving about and creating destruction, there is trash left all over including McDonalds trash, and bags of household trash. I am sharing these quick #iphone snaps just to pass this message along. If you do not appreciate the property and destroy it for others, no one will get to appreciate it and the history will be gone.
